Standard “county criminal” searches typically check only one upper level court and one lower level court per county. Nevada has 17 District Courts, 43 Justice Courts, and 17 municipal courts. In order to research criminal records in all of these courts, MCSS has been certified to access the Nevada Department of Pubic Safety Civil Name Check (CNC) criminal record system. All Nevada counties and courts are searchd at one time.
CNC searches are conducted of arrest records for all courts in the State of Nevada and results are typically returned in hours instead of weeks. Only licensed private investigation firms physically located in Nevada can gain access to the CNC system for their clients. As a MCSS client you have two CNC search options to select from:
CNC Disqualifier Search
You provide us with criminal background disqualifiers and MCSS will give you same day results as to whether your applicant meets your requirements. Using the disqualifier search relieves you from the liability of misinterpreting complex Nevada court case information. There is typically no waiting time for hit information to be verified with one or more of the 77 Nevada courts allowing results to be posted the same day. This is the least expensive and quickest criminal record search option.
CNC Two Step Search
MCSS will search all 77 courts through Nevada CNC. Searches resulting in no hits are typically returned the same day. Searches resulting in hits must be researched manually through the applicable Nevada court to comply with Nevada regulations before results can be posted. This option provides you with detailed arrest and conviction information. However, the manual search for hit records can require from 48 hours in Northern Nevada to as long as 10 business days for Las Vegas (Clark County) area courts. CNC hits occur in approximately 6% of searches. A “CNC Two Step Search” is more expense to cover costs of manual court research.
