Jim Weston, Managing Partner
Mr. Weston is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. He is also a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police at Harvard University. He worked 32 years with the City of Reno including 3 ½ years as Chief of Police before retiring in 2005. Over the years, Mr. Weston has earned a solid reputation for providing customer service and understanding of the unique staffing needs of Nevada’s government organizations. Weston’s background includes serving as the Chairman of the Nevada Sentencing Commission, research and writing for the Police Executive Research Forum in Washington, D.C., consulting on public safety issues nationwide, as well as serving on the boards of many local not-for-profit organizations.
Jim Colbert, Senior Investigator/Polyrapher
Colbert retired from the Reno Police Department in 2005 after a 30 year career as police officer, robbery-homicide detective, pre-employment background investigator, and polygraphist. A graduate of the Backster School of Polygraphy, Colbert was the Reno Police Departments' polygraphist for 12 years conducting hundreds of criminal and pre-employment polygraph examinations. His professional experience includes serving as a certified police weaponless defense instructor and lecturing on public safety issues at the Truckee Meadows Community College and University of Nevada, Reno. Colbert is licensed by the State of Nevada as a private investigator and polygraph examiner.
Tom Reid, Senior Investigator
Tom Reid retired from the Reno Police Department in 2005 after a 20 law enforcement career which included nine years as a detective in robbery/homicide, sex crimes-child abuse, and background investigations. Tom has a BS degree in Criminal Justice and extensive formal investigative training.
